I’ve been promising to show you how I set up our #SummerActivityBinder and here it is! Using the free printables from my shop, I’m creating a spot to store all the work we’ve put into creating a fun and memorable summer for our kids. I want this binder to be something we can pull out year after year, and continue to reuse. I want this to be an incredible resource for future Whitney (hi, May 2020 self!) who is attempting to do all.the.things in a summer with kids, including keeping up with a busy work life!
Over the last few weeks, I’ve talked a lot about intentionally planning our summer. As a busy entrepreneur and mom, I have to think about how to keep my kids occupied with no school or childcare. My husband, David, and I want this summer with our kids to be full of engaging, educational, fun activities but it can be exhausting.
Enter the summer activity binder! This is the best method I have found to combat, or rather, organize the chaos that is our summer with kids. Kind of like a holiday planner, a summer activity binder can be a tool that you use for years to come!
Want to see how we created our #SummerActivityBinder? Let’s get started!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A cute binder (loving these striped ones, these playful patterns, and these basics too!)
- Tab Dividers
- Three-hole punch
- Or Page protectors
- Summer with Kids printables from the Whitney English Shop (which are totally FREE!)
I recommend dividing up your binder into sections. Don’t feel like you have to have it all in place right away. I’m using this summer to gather the right necessities (give me all the cute, useful printables!) and adding them in as we go. As my kids grow, the tools we use may change but we’ll update the binder in the process.
Here are the sections we’re starting with! I’ll continue to share updates on our #SummerActivityBinder over on Instagram so be sure to follow along!
- Title Page
- To See
- To Read
- Reading Log

What are you adding to your Summer Activity Binder? Are there any printables, tips, tricks or tools you want to see from me? I am loving creating these free printables and are so happy you all are LOVING them!
Happy binder and memory making this summer!
