Today, I wrote.
Life gets in the way of writing. Screaming children, crying children, hungry children, inquisitive children. They get in the way of writing.
Text messages, meetings, phone calls. These things get in the way of writing.
Insurance claims and dentist appointments and oil changes and grocery runs get in the way of writing.
Also, the risk. What will people say?
There are so many excuses to not write.
But there are so many other reasons to write.
Legacy. Those screaming, crying, hungry, inquisitive things might want to know what these days felt like as a mom.
Impact. If I could get my thoughts straight, there’s a slim chance I could do some good in this world with my words.
Creativity. Because when practiced, it multiplies. And heaven knows I could use a little bit more of that.
Why do you think it’s important to write?
